Sabu was the most
pioneering wrestler of his generation.
With his blend of table breaking, weapons-based brawling and risky
highspots, his unique style was central to the appeal of the original
ECW while also influencing Attitude-era WWF and now-familiar gimmick
matches such as TLC bouts.
But his years of taking dangerous bumps and working with injuries - he
made his wrestling debut way back in 1985 - have come at a terrible
price.
He looks thin and frail and hasn't wrestled since March: his back is
now such a mess that he requires surgery to have rods placed in it.
This match, which took place in FMW on 28 August 1994, perhaps
demonstrates why.
